Networking with people and forming a team has become an integral part of our professional as
well as personal life. We need these life skills in this fast moving and dynamic world to
succeed and survive. Education is given the foremost priority along with which, in Don Bosco
College, we strive to inculcate in students, the team work dynamics which is also one of our
core values. To nurture these qualities and to provide a platform to showcase the skills of
students and emerge as leaders, the Clubs we formed. These clubs are directly connected to
develop creativity, lateral thinking and networking among students. There are totally ten clubs
namely- Symvoli (Literary club), Nuova (Research & Mathematics club), Cipher Tussle
(Coding club), Environner (Environment club), Legends (Sports club), Tycoon
(Entrepreneurship club), Abhijwala (Cultural club), Fashionista (Fashion club), Memoria
(Photography, Film making club), Das Geld (Finance club). Students are given the option to
choose the Club based on their interests and every Club has a faculty and student co-ordinator
to coordinate the activities.
‘Writer of the month’ session was conducted every month, by the Literary Club to sow the seeds of ‘joy of reading’ and creating awareness about great writers and poets among all the students irrespective of their streams. Sports club members were very enthusiastic in hosting regular indoor tournaments after regular classes. As part of ‘Clean India’ initiative, ‘Swatch Paryavaran’ a cleaning drive was conducted in college campus by the Environment Club as a part of Gandhi Jayanti celebration.
Entrepreneurship club and Research Club collaborated and conducted ‘Biznuova’, a business plan contest to put a foundation on generation of ideas on start-ups and business in students. Poster making contest on the theme ‘White Christmas’ was conducted by the Photography and Movie Making Club to identify the designing and creative skills among students. Coding club members went out of the way and conducted classes on basics of input and output devices for Primary school children in nearby Government Schools. Environment Club members also initiated to participate in volunteering programmes conducted by ‘Swatcha Gruha kalika kendra’ on waste management practices in HSR layout. Hindi Diwas and Kannada Rajyotsava were inpar with the academic events, these were also celebrated and arrangements of events were supervised by Cultural Club members. To bring out the fashion sense among students, an inhouse fashion show competition was arranged by the Fashion Club and students showed great enthusiasm by walking on the ramp. Apart from these activities, ‘Knowledge Exchange Programme on HTML’ was also conducted by Coding Club members for other students to upgrade their skills. Guest lectures were coordinated by club members and faculties in various areas of research, business, environment conservation and updating skills. Some of the interactive sessions include:
